In a world where most
boats look alike, where do you find a boat that meets
your real-world needs? Room, capacity, performance,
just plain good looks—these are all factors
we consider when choosing a small boat.
After many years of
cruising, living aboard, and just plain messing around
in boats, we’ve come across a design that seems
to meet almost every need. Created by noted New Zealand
designer John Welsford, Sherpa is aimed at providing
a stable and roomy platform for transporting guests,
provisions, rambunctious dogs and other necessities
without worrying about rolling the gunwales under
or taking a passing wake in the face. And when the
delivery chores are over, Sherpa comes alive under
oars or being easily driven by her balanced lug sail
plan. Her twin oak skegs make her track like she’s
on rails when rowing, too.
Whether your
needs are for a serious yacht tender, or a weekend
pocket beach cruiser, Sherpa will fit the bill: good
looks and utility!
